Ingredients
6 naval oranges, peeled, all pith removed
8 pitted fresh dates, quartered
Juice of 1 orange
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1⁄2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Baby mint leaves, to garnish
Preparation method
1. Slice peeled oranges crosswise into 1cmwide rounds. Cut rounds in half; remove any pith from centre of slices. Place oranges and dates in a bowl. Combine juices and cinnamon; pour over fruit. Cover; refrigerate for 1 hour.
2. Arrange oranges and dates in a shallow, rimmed plate, pour over juice. Scatter mint leaves over and serve.
This can be served as a side – or a sweet, if you like.
