Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 small brown onion, peeled and roughly chopped
60g beef jerky, roughly chopped
500ml (2 cups) prepared pasta tomato sauce
125ml (½ cup) dry white wine
400g can cannellini beans, drained
½ tablespoon caraway seeds
8 thick beef sausages
Preparation method
Heat the oil and pan fry the onion for 2 minutes; add the jerky, tomato sauce, white wine and cook for 5 minutes.
Tip in the beans and caraway seeds and simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring regularly. Add more wine if liquid is needed.
Tip the sausages in to warm water and bring to the boil; cook for 3 minutes and remove from the water. Cool and then butterfly do not cut in half.
Grill or barbeque the sausages which at this stage are flat. Cook until done.
Serve the sausages with the bean stew heaped onto them, with vegetables of your choice.
